The 100th day of Kindergarten is coming!

Friday, February 7, 2014 will be the 100th day of Kindergarten class.

We are preparing to celebrate! Our celebration is scheduled from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. This academic

celebration will include many stations for the students to have fun while developing number sense. We will count

up, down, and sideways by 1's 2's, 5's,and 10's. Your help is crucial! We are asking for as many parent volunteers

as possible! We have planned the activities and will have the supplies and directions ready for you. Volunteers

will facilitate an activity with small groups of students. If you volunteer, it would be best if you could volunteer for

the entire block of time, so that as many students as possible get to participate in your activity.

Please send in the attached volunteer form as soon as possible if you are able to help.

As always, if you have any questions please contact us at 720-424-3930 or by email at lee_betz@dpsk12.org

100 COLLECTION HOMEWORK

Please help your child to collect 100 of anything. For instance, in your house there might be

100 pennies, rocks, keys, grains of rice, kernels of popcorn, pieces of candy, toothpicks, Q-tips, cotton balls, lima beans or

even pieces of newspaper. Your child should be able to count their 100 things several times in several ways. Next, please

help display the 100 objects in some way that we might all clearly see how much 100 of that item is. You might put the

items on cardboard, in a jar, on a paper, etc. They might be part of a picture, a collage, a structure, etc. Let your imagination

go! Most of all have fun with your kindergarten child and help them count to 100 many times during this project. These will be

displayed in the showcase and on tables in the main hall. (Please do not send anything valuable!) You may send them in

during the week of February 3, no later than Thursday, February 6. Have Fun!!
